Account linking / SSO / Socials log-ins

You can now link a Microsoft Azure, Office 365 (Entera ID / Active Directory) or Facebook account login with your biotime user account so that you can then log-in using just the external system account instead or the biotime internal user.
You must have a internal biotime user account defined first (with security role and normal access configured).

Note: Any password policy is still enforceable in the external account and is NOT managed in biotime if the user is logging in using an external account. The internal password policy is enforceable if they are logging in using the internal biotime account details.

An administrator can enable the external account(s) log-in in the Global Settings.

Once enabled by the administrator the user must login with the local biotime account user credentials and go to “Change Password” by selecting their user name in the top right of the screen and selecting “Change Password”.
Select “Link Account” for the type you wish to use and follow the prompts to link the account. Once the account is linked it will show “Unlink Account”.

Now at the login screen the user can choose to login with the native biotime user account (just enter username and password) or select the external account you have linked - Microsoft or Facebook - and login with that account instead.

Roster Planner Colors and Labels
You can now add custom labels, comments and colors to individual roster shifts in the Roster Planner screen. You can also edit the shifts and give them colors and labels in the master roster and master group roster configuration screens.

Using colors and labels on shifts in the planner screen allows you to toggle between showing normal shift hours or showing the shifts as with a color and label that may be used to signify a particular purpose.
The rosters in the planner screen can be printed in the traditional manner or displaying colors and labels instead.

Schedule tasks
Scheduled Tasks can be defined to “run as” a specific User so that the task (or report scheduled to run) is run with the permissions and employee access of that particular user.

Date Ranges
Rules in an Award can now be set to run for a specified date range which would allow you to expire a rule and start another automatically on a certain date.
Remember that most rules affect the period calculations - so changing rule definitions mid-period may result in unexpected calculations.

Employee Self Service
The employee self service pages have been re-worked to display like the home screen panels managers see when they login. There are new panels and the data is clearer and more interactive.

This is the old employee self service screen.

This is the new employee self service screen.
There are panels for rosters, work record, availability and time off and profile data. Each of these can be enabled or disabled in the security role.
Each panel can be maximized and minimized for full screen view.

The security role can be configured to allow employees to edit the details (like contact details) in the profile or just display it as read-only.

Dashboard Panels
There is a new dashboard panel to show Employee Contact Details.
There is a new dashboard panel to show trend usage for Pay Codes. ie: a trend graph for sick leave over weeks / months.

Exception types
Exceptions can now be configured to force acknowledgment on the time sheet.

Security Roles
Have been extended to allow a restriction on which reports are available to the users linked to a role.

There are new permissions in line with the new panels and other changes in the employee self service screens.

Manage Periods
The Tools / Manage Periods screen allows an administrator to re-open or close pay periods but the process was very slow when you needed to manage multiple pay period on multiple awards.
We have reworked the page to make it much faster to use.

The old method required selecting the period, then the state and clicking apply - for each period.

The new method just requires a check box to be selected for each period.
